東平洲是香港最東的一個島嶼，屬海岸保護區，而且被納入為香港世界地質公園，以「三平」(即海平、島平、石平)、「一奇」(即頁岩的奇特)見稱。全島由沉積岩組成，有很多奇岩怪石及千變萬化的海蝕地貌，其中的頁岩更被喻為「香港四大自然奇觀」。
Tung Ping Chau is the easternmost outlying island in Hong Kong, it is one of the Hong Kong Global Geoparks in Hong Kong. There are 'Three Flats and One Wonder', three flats are flat sea, flat island and flat rock, one wonder refers to famouse shale. The island is made up of sedimentary rock, it is mostly formed of extrusive igneous rocks, these rocks are Hong Kong's four famous natural sights.
